Krakow Questions
What should I pack for a 3 week trip to Krakow, Poland? I am attending a Polish Language and Culture program at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow this summer. I am to stay there for three weeks. The last time I was in Poland was when I was 6 (that was 13 years ago), so I don't remember it that much. I was just wondering what the climate is like there in Krakow, and what are some things to pack (clothes, types of shoes, etc.). Also what are some nice tourist attractions in Krakow?
Can you go from Krakow to Zakopane in a day? Is it possible to get from Krakow to the Zakopane mountains in just a day and for it to still be worthwhile? If so, can anyone recommend the best way to travel using public transport? Thank you.
Krakow to Czestochowa by bus or by train? I am planning to travel from Krakow to Czestochowa, spend a few hours at Czestochowa and then continue on to Warsaw in the same day. Can anyone tell me the most efficient way to travel that route. I would like to see some nice Polish scenery along the way, but I also need to consider travel time. Is there a great travel-time difference between the train and the bus? Which would you recommend? Is it realistic to plan this trip for a single day? Any other suggestions will be appreciated very much. Also let me apologize for not using the proper Polish letters. I don't have the correct letter set.
What to do in Krakow or around that area? I'm going to Krakow, Poland, for 25 days this summer. I've gone every summer for eight years besides for the last two. My grandparents live there, so we have a summer house on a lake and some land that we usually spend like a day on. Other than that, I've done so much in Krakow. Can anyone give me some places to see and go? A website would be great.
Can you use a 5 Day, 1 Country Eurail Pass to go from Prague to Krakow? I am traveling from Prague to Krakow, and was wondering if a Eurail Pass will work out of Prague. I expect to leave on Friday and come back on Monday. I was going to get the 5 day, 1 country Eurail pass. How does this even work? Do I take it to the station to get verified ahead of time? Any information would be very helpful.

Where can I find info about what it was like in Krakow at the end of WWII? I am intersted in reading primary and secondary accounts about what day to day was like for people after the War finished. Hopefully this would include more info than just life under the Soviets, ie: demographics, accounts of the people released from Auscwitz and any Germans remaining in the city.
Any recommendations for a trip to Krakow, Poland? Planning a trip to Krakow with my friend next month, and we'd like to visit Auschwitz and have a guided tour. Want to do the trip on a budget, so any recommendations where to stay in the city centre - any particular part of it? Any websites that are good to book a guide for the tour? And any other general recommendations? Never been to Poland before and there are so many websites! Thanks.
Who can recommend a nice hotel in Krakow, not expensif and good value for money ? I am going to Krakow in September with my 2 sisters. We are around 40 years old and want to spend a "girls only weekend" over their. We will arrive about 11 pm and are looking for a hotel in the center of the city. It should be clean, safe and not too expensif. We would prefer to have a room for 3 people. Who can can recommend a hotel ? Many thanks for your help.
What is there to do for fun in Krakow? I'm thinking of taking a trip to Krakow at the end of January. Besides a day trip to Auschwitz, I want to have some fun there. Any good clubs or special things to see or do? Thanks!
My friend and I are thinking of going to Krakow for a weekend break? Can anyone recommend a good low-budget hotel in or close to the city centre? Also, if you can offer any other useful advice or tourist information I'd be very grateful - for example, how long does it take to go from the airport to the city centre and what is the transport like, price-wise? Thanks
